Paediatric contact lenses are special type of lenses that are prescribed to children with special refractive needs. There are certain limitations to correcting vision in children with spectacles or surgical interventions. In paediatric age group where vision cannot be corrected with spectacles or surgery, contact lenses play a major role. There are certain eye conditions in children where prescribing these contact lenses are considered as medically necessary. Paediatric contact lenses come in both soft and gas permeable (hard) contact lens materials. Lenses that fall under this category are custom-designed as per individual eye requirements.
